Te mapa
Guilford's map has a clear centre. The large town green is one of the most notable in New England, and the rest of the map is organised around it. The historic streets reach out from the green toward the shore and inland toward low wooded hills. To the south, the land breaks into tidal creeks, marsh and small points where the coast meets Long Island Sound.
The town was founded in 1639, and its streets are unusually well preserved. The Henry Whitfield House dates from the town's first years and is often cited as the oldest stone house in Connecticut. Beyond the historic core, Interstate 95 and the Boston Post Road cut east to west across the town, and the shoreline rail line runs close alongside them.
A Guilford map poster shows the layers of the town clearly. There is the compact colonial core around the green, then the highway corridor, then the open shapes of the marsh. Farther inland, the roads spread out and wind between ponds and forest, and the map becomes much quieter.
A broad open rectangle sits in the historic centre, framed by streets on all four sides. It is the anchor of the map and the first shape the eye finds.
To the south the coastline is anything but smooth. Tidal creeks, marsh and small harbours give the map a soft, irregular lower edge.
Interstate 95, the Post Road and the rail line run in parallel across the town. Together they form a clear horizontal band between the historic streets and the inland hills.

Koteā ko Guilford
Guilford draws people who value New England towns that have kept their shape for centuries. For former residents, summer visitors or anyone married on the green, the map records a place that has barely changed its outline.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a wedding date, and the coordinates line, then pick one of five styles. Blueprint and Paper both suit the coastal setting. The file comes as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF in six sizes, with no watermark.
