Te mapa
Hanyū lies at the northern edge of Saitama Prefecture, where the Tone River marks the border with Gunma. The land is almost perfectly flat, part of the wide Kanto Plain. From above, the city shows a mix of rectangular rice paddies, straight farm roads and clusters of houses, with a denser centre around the railway station.
The Tone River forms the northern edge of the map as a broad, gently curving band, lined with levees and floodplain. Rail lines and the Tohoku Expressway run through the city in long straight strokes toward Tokyo and the north. The contrast between these lines and the soft river gives the composition its structure.
Hanyū has long been known for indigo-dyed cotton, a regional craft sometimes called Musashi indigo. A Hanyū map poster gives this quiet agricultural city a clear, graphic presence. The field boundaries form an almost textile-like pattern, which suits a place with a history of weaving and dyeing.
Japan's second-longest river runs along the northern boundary, its wide channel and levees forming a strong, curving edge to the map.
Across the flat land, rice fields divide the ground into small rectangles, creating a fine, repetitive texture between the built-up areas.
Railway lines and the Tohoku Expressway cross the plain in long, direct lines, linking the compact station district to the wider Kanto region.

The map suits anyone from Hanyū or northern Saitama, or those who love the quiet order of the Kanto countryside. Its fine field pattern and river edge make a subtle print that rewards a closer look.
