Te mapa
Haukipudas lies on the coast of North Ostrobothnia, a short distance north of Oulu, to which it has belonged since the municipal merger of 2013. From above, it is shaped by water: the Kiiminkijoki River winds through the town towards its mouth on the Gulf of Bothnia, and the coastline breaks into bays, islets and low shores.
The centre has grown up along the river, with residential areas of detached houses and quiet streets spreading out into forest and fields. The old wooden church of Haukipudas, dating from the 18th century, is known for its painted interior, a notable piece of Finnish church art.
A Haukipudas map poster traces the curves of the river, the fragmented coastline and the network of streets in between. The flat, watery northern landscape makes for a light, open composition, which works especially well in the Paper or Blueprint styles.
The river meanders through town in broad loops before reaching the sea, forming the strongest line on the map and linking the centre to the coast.
The coast is low and fragmented, with shallow bays, headlands and small islands that give the western edge of the map a delicate, irregular outline.
The 18th-century wooden church stands near the river and is known for its painted interior, a historic landmark in a town otherwise made of quiet residential streets.

Koteā ko Haukipudas
Haukipudas is a place people often call home for a long time: close to Oulu, but with the river, the shore and the forest right at hand. A map of it captures that balance between town and nature in a way a photograph rarely does.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Get the HD files for any of six print sizes, or have it printed on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
