Te mapa
Hiré lies in the south-central part of Ivory Coast, in a landscape of forest, plantations and farmland. On a map the town appears as a cluster of streets around its main roads, with neighbourhoods spreading outward and tracks leading into the surrounding countryside. The pattern is informal and organic, shaped by growth rather than planning.
The area around Hiré is known for gold mining, which has brought new activity and population to the town in recent decades. Agriculture remains important too, with plantations and small farms filling much of the land around it. That mix of old routes and newer growth shows in the map as a denser centre and looser edges.
A Hiré map poster shows a town at a human scale: the central junction, the roads leading out, and the quieter streets in between. It is a modest subject, and for people from Hiré or those who have worked there, it can be a very personal one, a clear outline of a place that rarely appears in print.
The main roads cross near the centre of town, and most streets connect back to them, forming the backbone of the map.
Newer neighbourhoods spread outward from the core in an irregular pattern, showing how the town has expanded in recent years.
Plantations, forest and mining land around the town appear as open space, giving the built area a clear outline.

For anyone from Hiré, or anyone who spent time working in the region, this poster is a simple way to keep the place close. Few maps of small towns are made with this kind of care.
