Te mapa
Hobara lies in the northern part of the Fukushima Basin, in an area that is now part of Date City. The land here is gently sloping and well suited to fruit growing, and the region is especially known for its peaches and other orchard crops. On a map, the town appears as a modest built-up area among a patchwork of fields and orchards.
The street pattern is typical of a Japanese country town. A few main roads pass through the centre, lined with shops and houses, and smaller lanes branch out to farmhouses and orchards. Mountains rise along the edges of the basin and frame the settled land. Small rivers and irrigation channels add fine lines of water.
A Hobaramachi map poster captures a landscape where town and agriculture are closely woven together. The compact centre gives the image focus, and the surrounding orchards and fields produce a soft, detailed texture. The result is a calm, understated image of rural Fukushima.

Fruit orchards and farmland spread across the gentle slopes around the town. They create a finely divided pattern of plots and lanes.
Mountains frame the Fukushima Basin, rising beyond the farmland and giving the composition a natural border.
