Te mapa
Huimin lies within the Chongqing municipality in southwestern China, on the southern side of the main metropolitan area. Chongqing is famously hilly, built across ridges and river valleys, and the map of this part of the city shows it clearly. Roads curl around slopes and follow the contours, with none of the straight grids found in flatter Chinese cities.
Chongqing grew up where the Jialing River joins the Yangtze, and the Yangtze remains the dominant feature of the wider landscape, carving a broad, winding course through the municipality. Around Huimin, newer development and older, more rural land sit close together, reflecting how quickly the city has expanded into its surrounding hills in recent decades.
The density of the linework varies sharply from block to block. Streets cluster tightly on level ground and leave gaps where the terrain rises too steeply to build. A Huimin map poster captures this uneven, layered texture, which looks nothing like the flat, regular plans of cities in northern China.
Streets wind around the hills instead of cutting straight across them, producing loops, hairpins and curving lines that give the map a distinctly organic look.
The Yangtze River runs through the wider Chongqing area, and its broad, winding course is the strongest geographic feature shaping the city's southern districts.
Clusters of streets on level ground alternate with open slopes and valleys, so the print shows patches of dense linework separated by quieter space.

Koteā ko Huimin
Chongqing's map is unlike almost any other city's, and even a smaller area such as Huimin reflects that complexity. It makes a fitting print for someone who grew up here, or who moved away and wants a reminder of home.
Add a title in your own words, a subtitle with a date, and the coordinates line. Blueprint and Noir suit the intricate street pattern well, and every style comes as HD files in six print sizes or as a printed poster.
