Te mapa
Iriona is a municipality in the department of Colón, on the Caribbean coast of northern Honduras, toward the edge of the Mosquitia region. It covers a wide area, and its population is spread across coastal villages and inland communities rather than concentrated in a single dense town. Several of its coastal communities are Garifuna.
On a map, the most striking features are natural: a long coastline, lagoons behind the beach, rivers winding toward the sea and large forested areas inland. Roads are few, and settlements appear as small clusters along the shore or near rivers. In such places, travel often depends as much on boats and beach paths as on paved roads.
An Iriona map poster is less about streets and more about the meeting of land and water. The coast forms a clear line, lagoons add irregular shapes behind it, and the small settlements appear as quiet points along the edge.
A long, gently curving shore runs along the north of the municipality, giving the map a strong edge and a wide expanse of sea.
Lagoons and wetlands lie behind the beach, forming irregular water shapes separated from the sea by narrow strips of land.
Settlements appear as small clusters along the coast and rivers, connected by few roads, leaving much of the map open and lightly drawn.

Koteā ko Iriona
For people from Iriona, including Garifuna families who have moved away, a map of the coast and villages is a strong link to home. Its open layout also makes a calm, graphic print.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a village name or date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint makes the sea and lagoons stand out.
