Te mapa
Itogon lies in the Cordillera mountains of northern Luzon, in Benguet province, just east of Baguio. The terrain is steep, and the map shows it clearly: roads follow ridgelines and wind down into valleys, with settlements spread in small clusters wherever the land allows. There is no grid here, only lines shaped by the mountains.
The Agno River runs through deep valleys in the municipality, and dams along it created long reservoirs that appear on the map as narrow bands of water among the hills. The town is best known for gold mining, which has been carried out here for over a century and has left its mark on the landscape and on the pattern of the communities.
An Itogon map poster shows a mountain place in its full complexity: winding roads, steep slopes, rivers and reservoirs. For families with roots in the mining communities, or anyone who knows the road from Baguio, it is a detailed and personal portrait of the Cordillera.
