Te mapa
Jacareacanga is the seat of a very large municipality in the southwest of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon. It lies on the Tapajós, one of the major tributaries of the Amazon. The region is largely forest, and much of the surrounding land belongs to Indigenous territories, including those of the Munduruku people.
On the map, the town is a small set of streets on the riverbank, far from other settlements. A few roads run out and then fade into the forest. The river dominates everything. It is wide, broken by islands and sandbanks, and so much larger than the town that the urban area looks like a small mark along its edge.
A Jacareacanga map poster is mostly about scale. It shows a compact grid, the long line of the river and the empty space around both. In a monochrome style, the Tapajós becomes a strong, flowing band, and the town reads as a clear, deliberate point beside it.
The great tributary flows past the town and takes up much of the frame. Its channels and islands form the main shapes of the poster.
The streets form a small, fairly regular grid along the bank, oriented toward the water that has long been the main route in and out.
Beyond the last streets, few lines remain. The empty space around the town reflects how isolated it is within the Amazon forest.

Koteā ko Jacareacanga
This poster is for people with a real connection to the upper Tapajós, whether through work, research, family or travel. It captures a place most people never see, and it does so with a simple, confident composition.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a date or a name, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room and the river.
