Te mapa
Manaus stands on the north bank of the Rio Negro, a few kilometres above where it joins the Solimões to form the Amazon. On the map the river is enormous, a wide band of water along the southern edge of the city. The urban area spreads north from the waterfront toward the forest, its streets interrupted everywhere by igarapés, the small creeks that wind through the city.
The historic centre near the port keeps a compact grid of streets from the rubber boom, when the city became one of the richest in Brazil. To the west, the Rio Negro Bridge, more than three kilometres long, crosses to the opposite bank. East of the city, at the Meeting of the Waters, the dark Rio Negro and the pale Solimões flow side by side for kilometres without mixing.
Manaus is the capital of Amazonas and the largest city in the Brazilian Amazon, reached mostly by river or air. Its Teatro Amazonas, an opera house completed in 1896, is a legacy of the rubber era. A Manaus map poster shows a city defined by water, where the grid meets one of the largest river systems on earth.
The river forms the entire southern edge of the city, wide and open, with port facilities and floating docks along the historic centre.
Small forest creeks and streams cut across the whole city in irregular winding lines, breaking the street pattern into separate neighbourhoods.
A cable-stayed bridge more than three kilometres long, it crosses the river west of the centre and appears as a single fine line over the water.

Koteā ko Manaus
Manaus is a city of arrival for many, the gateway to the Amazon, and home to people with deep ties to the river. A black-and-white map of its waterfront and creeks makes a thoughtful piece for anyone who has lived there or travelled through.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates. Blueprint gives the river a crisp technical feel, Noir a darker tone, and Paper, Sand and Classic black & white suit calmer rooms. Buy HD files for $9 or a matte printed poster, framed if you like.
