Te mapa
Santarém sits on the right bank of the Tapajós, just where that river runs into the Amazon. From above, the city is a long waterfront that bends along the shore, with a regular grid of blocks climbing gently inland. The streets run parallel and perpendicular to the river, so the pattern reads cleanly, and the open water takes up much of the frame.
The best-known sight here is the meeting of the waters. The dark-blue Tapajós and the muddy brown Amazon flow side by side for kilometres before they mix. A monochrome print can't show colour, but it does show the scale: two broad bodies of water meeting in front of a compact urban edge, with the forest beyond thinning into scattered roads and clearings.
A Santarém map poster works best as a portrait of the city's edge. The quay and the first streets behind it carry the densest detail, and the pattern thins as the city spreads away from the river. Upstream along the Tapajós lie beaches and lakes, including the village of Alter do Chão, which often draws visitors to the region.
The Tapajós and the Amazon meet right in front of the city. On the map they form a wide open expanse of water that anchors the whole composition.
Straight blocks run back from the shore in an orderly pattern. It is one of the clearest street grids on the lower Amazon, and it reads crisply in line work.
The waterfront curves along the Tapajós and draws a firm line between dense streets and open river. Most of the city's older fabric is gathered along it.

Koteā ko Santarém
Santarém means a lot to people who grew up on the lower Amazon, worked on its boats or travelled up the Tapajós. The poster frames the city as it really is: a line of streets against a great deal of water.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a family name, a date or a trip. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the river geometry especially well.
