Te mapa
Jaggayyapeta is in the northwest of Andhra Pradesh, close to the Telangana border. The main road between Hyderabad and Vijayawada runs past it, and on a map this highway is the town's clearest line. The older neighbourhoods sit close to the road in a dense cluster of short, irregular lanes. Newer blocks spread out along the approach roads in looser grids, and the town's edge breaks up gradually into fields.
Industry shapes much of the land around the town. The area is known for its limestone and for the cement works built on it, so large open plots, quarry cuts and industrial compounds appear at the edges of the built-up area. They look very different from the small residential streets. Beyond them lie cultivated fields, irrigation channels and scattered villages.
The town is also known to historians. Remains of an early Buddhist stupa were excavated here, and carved panels from the site are among the oldest known examples of the style later associated with Amaravati. A Jaggayyapeta map poster shows the town as it is today, but it carries some of that older story too.
The Hyderabad–Vijayawada road runs past the town in one long, confident line. It is the backbone of the map, and most of the town's streets branch off it.
Quarries and cement works lie around the town. Their broad, open shapes contrast sharply with the fine pattern of the residential lanes.
Past the last houses the map opens into fields, channels and village roads. The dense centre gives way to a quiet, mostly empty rural pattern.
