Te mapa
Jalapa is the capital of the department of the same name in eastern Guatemala. The town lies in a valley in the highlands, and its centre follows the regular grid that Spanish-era towns across the country share: straight streets meeting at right angles around a central square, with the church and public buildings facing it.
Beyond the centre the grid loosens. Newer neighbourhoods climb the lower slopes, roads bend with the terrain, and the built-up area gives way to fields and scattered houses on the surrounding hills. On a map this creates a clear contrast between the orderly core and the looser, more organic edges shaped by the land around it.
The region is known for agriculture, dairy and cattle raising, and the town has long served as a market and administrative centre for nearby rural communities. A Jalapa map poster records this plain, practical layout with care, a quiet portrait for anyone connected to the town or to the eastern highlands of Guatemala.
The historic core is laid out in regular rectangular blocks around the main square, the most orderly part of the map and the natural focus of the composition.
Hills rise on several sides of the town, and the roads leaving it curve and climb with the relief, giving the edges of the poster a softer, irregular character.
Main roads leave the town towards neighbouring municipalities and the capital, drawing a few strong lines that tie the compact centre to the wider landscape.

Koteā ko Jalapa
Many people from Jalapa live in Guatemala City or in the United States, and a map of the town is a way to keep the plaza, the family street and the hills in view. It is simple and personal, free of the generic imagery of travel posters.
Choose a title and subtitle, perhaps a family name or a year, and keep the coordinates of a home or church. Five styles are offered, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as $9 HD files or as a printed poster in a matte finish.
