Te mapa
Jiawang is a district in the north-east of Xuzhou, in the northern corner of Jiangsu province. For much of the twentieth century it was a coal-mining area. The mining left subsided land that has since filled with water, and on the map it appears as a set of irregular lakes and wetlands among fields and towns.
The best known of these is Pan'an Lake, where former mining land was turned into a large wetland park. Its islands, causeways and winding shores add soft shapes to a Jiawang map poster that would otherwise be dominated by straight roads.
The Beijing–Hangzhou Grand Canal crosses the district, a long, even waterway that has carried barges for centuries. Together with the newer district centre and its broad avenues, it gives the map a mix of old waterways, planned streets and reclaimed landscape.

The historic canal crosses the district as a steady, uniform line of water. It is one of the most recognisable engineered features in eastern China and runs clear across the map.
The administrative centre is laid out with wide, straight avenues and large blocks. That regular geometry contrasts sharply with the irregular shorelines of the lakes nearby.

Koteā ko Jiawang
The map suits anyone with roots in Xuzhou or Jiawang, including families whose history is tied to the mines, as well as people interested in how old industrial landscapes are reshaped. It is a record of transformation that looks calm on a wall.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for instance with Chinese characters, a family name or a meaningful year. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
