Te mapa
Kaneohe spreads along the shore of Kāneʻohe Bay on the windward side of Oʻahu, beneath the sheer green walls of the Koʻolau Mountains. From above, residential streets fill the gently sloping land between the cliffs and the water. The coastline is broken by small peninsulas, fishponds and inlets, and the bay itself is scattered with coral reefs and sandbars.
The bay is one of the largest sheltered bodies of water in Hawaii. Moku o Loʻe, known as Coconut Island, sits within it and hosts a marine research institute. At the bay's eastern edge, the Mōkapu Peninsula is occupied by Marine Corps Base Hawaii, whose runway and grounds form a large distinct shape on the map.
A Kaneohe map poster is defined by the meeting of land and water. The bay is rimmed with reefs, and mountain highways such as the Likelike and the H-3 thread through the Koʻolau toward Honolulu. It is a layered, graphic image of island life on the windward coast, and it works in any of the five styles.
The wide sheltered bay dominates the map. Its reefs, sandbars and small islands give the water an unusual level of detail.
Marine Corps Base Hawaii occupies this peninsula at the bay's edge, and its runway and shoreline form a sharp, recognisable outline.
Highways climb from the town into the mountains toward Honolulu, drawing long lines through the otherwise empty cliffs.

Koteā ko Kaneohe
Kaneohe is home for many families and a lasting memory for those who were stationed at the base or spent mornings on the bay. A map of the town and its waters brings that windward light indoors, even far from Hawaii.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a posting date or a family name, and pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters are available with an optional wooden frame.
