Te mapa
Karlskoga lies in Örebro County, in the historical province of Värmland, at the northern end of Lake Möckeln. On a map the lake reaches up toward the town from the south, with residential areas, industrial sites and forest arranged around its shores. The street pattern combines a compact centre with loosely planned neighbourhoods and long roads that run out through the surrounding woodland.
The town is closely tied to Bofors, the industrial company that grew here from an ironworks into a major manufacturer of steel and armaments. Alfred Nobel owned Bofors in the last years of his life and lived at Björkborn Manor in Karlskoga, now a museum dedicated to him. Industry, forest and water remain the three defining elements of the local landscape.
A Karlskoga map poster shows how these elements fit together: the long, irregular outline of Möckeln, the streets clustered at its northern end and the large industrial area set a little apart. With the forest left open, the shapes of water and settlement stand out clearly, making a strong, balanced image for anyone who knows the town.
The lake stretches southward from the town, its indented shoreline and bays forming the largest and most recognisable shape on the map.
The historic works occupy a large area on the edge of town, where the pattern of buildings and roads differs clearly from the residential streets.
Alfred Nobel's former home sits near the industrial site, a small historic estate that links the map to one of Sweden's best-known names.

Koteā ko Karlskoga
For families with generations of work at Bofors, or anyone who grew up by Möckeln, a map of Karlskoga is a clear reminder of home. Its combination of lake, forest and industry gives it a strong, almost graphic character on the wall.
