Te mapa
Kateríni is the capital of Pieria in northern Greece, lying on a fertile plain between the slopes of Mount Olympus and the coast of the Thermaic Gulf. The town was largely laid out in the modern era, and the map shows a fairly regular grid of streets with central squares, framed by the highway and rail line that link Thessaloniki and Athens.
Its seaside district, Paralia Katerinis, stretches along the shore a few kilometres to the east and fills with visitors each summer. To the south lies the archaeological site of Dion, the sacred city of the ancient Macedonians at the foot of Olympus, whose peaks are visible from the town on clear days.
A Kateríni map poster can take in more than streets alone. At a wider view, the grid of the town, the straight roads running to the sea and the first folds of the Olympus foothills all appear together, turning a local street map into a small portrait of the whole landscape between mountain and gulf.
Central streets form a mostly regular pattern of blocks and squares, dense and clear, sitting on the flat ground of the Pierian plain.
A straight route leads from the town to the coast, where a thin strip of beachfront streets follows the shoreline of the gulf.
West of town the land starts to rise, and the street pattern gives way to winding roads leading toward villages on the mountain slopes.

Koteā ko Kateríni
Many Greeks spent childhood summers at Paralia, and many people from Kateríni now live elsewhere in Greece or abroad. The map brings town, beach and mountain into one print that is easy to recognise and quiet enough for any room.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, then choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The digital files cost $9 and include six sizes, from A3 to 24×36″, as PNG and PDF.
