Te mapa
Khlong San is a district on the Thonburi side of Bangkok, along the western bank of the Chao Phraya River. On the map, the river forms its eastern edge in a broad curve, and the district stretches back from the water in a network of narrow lanes, or soi, and old canals. Major roads cut through in straighter lines, linking the district to bridges across the river.
The riverfront has changed considerably in recent years, most visibly with the ICONSIAM complex, which opened in 2018 and is one of the largest shopping centres in Asia. Alongside it, older communities, temples and markets remain close to the water. The Taksin and Memorial bridges connect the area with the centre of the city on the eastern bank.
A Khlong San map poster captures the relationship between the river and the dense city behind it. The curve of the Chao Phraya gives the print a strong shape, while the soi and canals fill it with fine detail. It is a view of Bangkok from its less visited but historically important side.
The river sweeps along the eastern edge of the district, the largest open shape on the map and the element that gives the poster its composition.
Narrow lanes branch from the main roads into dense residential blocks, creating a fine, intricate texture typical of older Bangkok neighbourhoods.
Bridges link Khlong San with the eastern bank, appearing as thin lines across the water and connecting the district to central Bangkok.
