Te mapa
Ko Tao lies north of Ko Pha-ngan in the Gulf of Thailand. It is a compact island of granite headlands and forested hills. From above it looks irregular and slightly elongated, with steep slopes that often have no paths and a coastline broken into deep coves. A thin network of roads runs mainly along the west side and climbs over the ridges to bays on the east and south.
Mae Haad, on the west coast, is the ferry pier and main village. North of it stretches Sairee, the island's longest beach, with a narrow band of lanes behind it. Off the north-west tip sits Ko Nang Yuan: three small islands joined by sandbars. On a map they form a delicate cluster apart from the main outline.
Ko Tao is best known as one of the most popular places in the world to learn to dive, with dive schools along the beaches and reefs all around the coast. Its name means Turtle Island. A Ko Tao map poster gives a lasting shape to a place that many people first got to know from underwater.

Three small islands off the north-west tip, linked by narrow sandbars. Together they make a small, unusual shape just beyond the main outline.
Deep coves cut into the east and south coasts, reached by steep side roads. They give the island its jagged, notched outline on the poster.

Koteā ko Ko Tao
For many divers, Ko Tao is where it all started: a first certification, a season as an instructor, or a long stay in Sairee. A map of the island is a quiet reminder of that time, and it looks right in a small room.
Put your dive school, beach or a date in the title and subtitle, change the coordinates, and pick one of five styles. Blueprint suits an island so closely tied to the sea. Download 300 DPI files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional frame.
