Te mapa
Kōnan is a city in the north of Aichi Prefecture, on the flat Nōbi Plain between Nagoya and the Kiso River. The river forms its northern border with Gifu Prefecture. Its wide, braided channel and riverside parks are the most striking feature on the map, drawing a strong horizontal line across the top of the sheet.
South of the river, the city is a mix of residential streets, small factories and remaining patches of farmland, crossed by rail lines to Nagoya. In spring, Kōnan is known for the wisteria festival at Mandara-ji temple park, where long trellises of blossom draw visitors from across the region. Riverside parks along the Kiso add large green areas.
A Kōnan map poster is a portrait of a typical Nōbi Plain town, with one strong natural edge. The fine grid of streets, the rail lines, the scattered fields and the broad river combine into an elegant composition. In black and white, the Kiso reads as a wide pale band, framing everything below it.
The broad river forms the northern boundary with Gifu Prefecture. Its channels and sandbars create a wide, flowing band across the top of the map.
The temple park famous for its spring wisteria sits within the city's residential fabric, an open green space among the surrounding streets.
Large parks line the Kiso's southern bank. On the poster they appear as open green strips between the river and the town.

Koteā ko Kōnan
Kōnan is home to many commuters to Nagoya, and to families who have lived beside the Kiso for generations. A map of the city captures its quiet streets and its river, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a new home.
