Te mapa
Kudāl lies in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, in the Konkan belt between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. It is an inland town, and on a map its streets follow the easy lines of low ground rather than any planned grid. Roads branch off towards scattered hamlets, and the surrounding land breaks into irregular plots shaped by slopes, streams and cultivated fields.
Two long lines anchor the plan. The Mumbai to Goa highway passes close to the town, and the Konkan Railway runs through the area with a station serving Kudāl. These corridors cross the looser mesh of local lanes and give the composition a clear direction, running roughly north to south along the coastal strip.
A Kudāl map poster shows a place that works as a market and transport point for the surrounding villages, with the district administrative centre not far away. The density of streets is highest around the town centre and fades quickly into rural paths, which gives the print an open, airy quality.
The railway cuts a long, steady line through the district, crossing streams and low ground, and becomes one of the most legible features on the printed map.
The main highway linking Mumbai and Goa passes near the town, forming a strong axis that the smaller roads of Kudāl branch away from.
Away from the main roads, lanes bend around plots and slopes, producing a loose, hand-drawn texture typical of Konkan settlements.

Koteā ko Kudāl
The Konkan has a particular pull on those who come from it, and a map of Kudāl is a way to keep the roads home in view. It works well for someone living in Mumbai, Pune or abroad who still thinks of the district as where they are from.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a year, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster is available as HD files or printed and shipped.
