Te mapa
Kupino is a small town in the south-west of Novosibirsk Oblast, on the flat steppe lands of southern Siberia near the border with Kazakhstan. The terrain is almost level, dotted with shallow lakes, birch groves and farmland, and the town lies on a railway that crosses this open country.
From above, Kupino is laid out in straight streets forming long rectangular blocks, a typical plan for Siberian railway and agricultural towns. The railway and station form a clear band along one side, while at the edges the grid gives way to fields and the irregular outlines of nearby lakes.
A Kupino map poster pairs this orderly plan with the loose shapes of water and woodland around it. The straight streets feel deliberate against the open steppe, and the lakes add a few soft forms to an otherwise rectilinear drawing. It is a spare, honest image of a place on the plain.
A railway line crosses the steppe and runs along the town, with the station area forming one of the most defined shapes on the map.
Streets run in straight lines and form elongated rectangular blocks, the characteristic plan of many Siberian towns built on level ground.
Shallow lakes in the surrounding countryside appear as rounded, irregular shapes that contrast with the straight lines of the town.
