Te mapa
Leshan lies where three rivers meet: the Min, the Dadu and the Qingyi. On the map the city sits on a wedge of land between the flows, and the wide channels form broad, pale curves that define its shape. Bridges cross in several places, and the streets of the older town follow the riverbank.
Across the water, cut into the red sandstone cliff of Lingyun Hill, sits the Leshan Giant Buddha. Carved in the eighth century, it is the largest stone Buddha in the world. It faces the confluence, as if watching over the rivers, and together with nearby Mount Emei it is listed by UNESCO.
The newer city spreads further into the flat land and low hills, with a looser grid and wider roads. A Leshan map poster shows a place defined by its rivers, with one of China's most famous monuments standing at their meeting point.
The Min, Dadu and Qingyi meet beside the city. Their broad channels form the strongest shapes on the map and wrap around the urban core.
The wooded hill across the water contains the Giant Buddha. It appears as a quiet green space facing the dense streets of the old town.
The older streets follow the curve of the riverbank. Their close, irregular pattern contrasts with the wider grid of the newer districts.

Koteā ko Leshan
Leshan is for many people the memory of a journey: the boat past the Buddha, the climb up Emei. For others it is simply home. This map keeps the rivers and the city at their meeting point in one clear image.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, in Chinese or English. The print is available in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
