Te mapa
Liaoyang sits in central Liaoning on the flat plain between Shenyang and Anshan. The Taizi River runs along its northern side in broad, braided curves and gives the city a soft, watery edge. South of the river the street network is largely rectilinear. Long avenues cross at right angles and older lanes fill the blocks between them.
The city has been an administrative centre for well over two thousand years. Its best-known landmark is the White Pagoda, a tall brick octagonal tower from the Liao or Jin period that still stands in the middle of town. In the early seventeenth century Nurhaci briefly made Liaoyang the capital of the Later Jin before moving the court to Shenyang.
A Liaoyang map poster shows a plains city with an ancient centre. The long-established core, the regular modern grid and the wandering river all fit in one frame. It is a clean, readable design with a strong horizontal line of water across the top and a settled geometry below.
The river loops past the northern edge of the city, splitting into channels and sandbars that give the map a flowing, organic line against the straight streets.
Near the heart of the old city, the pagoda's small park forms a quiet green patch in the grid and marks where Liaoyang's long history is most visible.
On level ground, the modern districts extend in near-regular blocks, and roads lead off towards Shenyang and Anshan across open farmland.

Koteā ko Liaoyang
Liaoyang is easy to pass through on the way between larger Liaoning cities, but for the people who know it, the river and the pagoda mean home. A map keeps that familiar outline in view.
