Te mapa
Anshan is one of the great industrial cities of north-east China, and its map makes that plain. The Anshan Iron and Steel complex, known as Ansteel, covers so much ground that it reads as a district of its own. Its web of rail sidings, furnaces and yards dwarfs the residential blocks around it. The city grew outward from the works through the twentieth century.
The main railway between Shenyang and Dalian runs through the city on a north–south line, and many of the older streets are aligned with it. Housing estates from several decades fill the space in between. Parks and small lakes provide the few open shapes in an otherwise dense, flat urban fabric.
To the south-east, the land rises into the Qianshan mountains, a scenic area of granite peaks and temples. The city is also known for jade, including a very large jade Buddha housed in a temple built for it. An Anshan map poster shows an industrial landscape drawn with unusual clarity, where every rail line and yard adds to the pattern.

The Shenyang–Dalian line runs straight through the city, and much of the surrounding street pattern takes its direction from it, giving the centre a clear axis.
South-east of the centre, the flat grid gives way to rising ground and forested slopes. This is where the Qianshan range begins and the urban area ends.

Koteā ko Anshan
Anshan often means work and family to the people who hang it: generations tied to the steel plant, the housing estates built around it and the hills just outside town. Its industrial geometry looks surprisingly elegant in monochrome.
Set the title and subtitle, add a year or a family name if you wish, and edit the coordinates line. Noir suits the ironworks particularly well, but Classic black & white, Paper, Blueprint and Sand are also available. The HD files cost $9.
