Te mapa
Los Polvorines sits in the partido of Malvinas Argentinas, on the northwestern edge of Greater Buenos Aires. From above it reads as a patchwork of rectangular blocks, the regular Argentine cuadrícula stretched across flat Pampean land, with wider avenues marking out neighbourhoods and the Belgrano Norte railway running through the middle toward the capital.
The name is said to recall the gunpowder magazines, polvorines, that once stood in the area, and the town grew as a residential stop along the line. Today it is best known as home to the main campus of the Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento, whose buildings and open grounds form a distinct block in the otherwise even street pattern.
A Los Polvorines map poster keeps that pattern honest: thin residential streets, heavier arterial roads, the straight stroke of the tracks and the looser shapes of green spaces where the grid pauses. Rendered in fine lines, the suburb becomes a study in repetition and small interruptions, the kind of drawing that rewards a close look.
The railway cuts through the town on its way to Retiro, a single confident line that divides the grid and gives the map its main axis.
The UNGS campus appears as a larger, irregular footprint among the blocks, its buildings and open ground breaking the rhythm of the surrounding residential streets.
Flat terrain let the blocks run in near-regular rectangles, so the poster shows long parallel streets and crossings repeated almost to the edge of the frame.

Koteā ko Los Polvorines
For people who grew up here, studied at the university or commuted daily on the Belgrano Norte, the map is a quiet record of routes walked many times. It works as a gift for someone who moved away and still knows every corner by name.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed to add a street, a family name or a date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, download the HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
