Maitland Map Poster & Print
Maitland is a small city in Orange County, Florida, just north of Winter Park and Orlando. It is one of the oldest communities in the area and takes its name from Fort Maitland, a military post built in the 1830s. From above, the city is defined by water: lakes of many sizes are scattered across the map, and residential streets bend to follow their shores.
Lake Maitland, the largest, lies on the city's southeastern side and connects by a chain of canals to lakes in Winter Park. Smaller lakes such as Lake Lily and Lake Sybelia sit among neighbourhoods and parks. The Maitland Art Center, built in the 1930s with distinctive Mayan-inspired decoration, is one of the city's best-known cultural landmarks.
