Te mapa
Manicoré lies in the south of Amazonas state, Brazil, on the Madeira River, one of the largest tributaries of the Amazon. From above, the town occupies a narrow strip of higher ground along the river. Its streets run parallel to the bank, and only a few roads reach back toward the forest. Beyond the edge of town, water and vegetation dominate the map.
Like most towns in this part of the Amazon, Manicoré has long depended on the river for transport, with boats connecting it to Manaus downstream and Porto Velho upstream. The level of the Madeira changes greatly between the wet and dry seasons, moving sandbanks and channels. Any map of the shoreline captures only one moment in a landscape that keeps changing.
A Manicoré map poster is less about dense streets than about the relationship between a town and a great river. The Madeira appears as a broad, powerful band, with islands and side channels along its course, while the town's small grid sits carefully on the bank. The result is striking in its simplicity and scale.
The wide river dominates the composition, a broad band of water whose curves, islands and side channels are drawn in fine outline.
The streets run parallel to the bank, with the waterfront as the town's main edge, reflecting a place built around arrival by boat.
Roads end quickly where the town meets the surrounding vegetation, leaving large open areas on the map that emphasise how remote the place is.

Koteā ko Manicoré
Manicoré is a place people rarely reach by chance. The poster suits those who were born along the Madeira, who worked or travelled on the river, or who simply want a map where water, not streets, is the main subject.
You can write the title, subtitle and coordinates as you wish, and the design is available in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with a wooden frame available as an option.
