Te mapa
Marion Oaks is one of Florida's large planned residential communities, laid out in the second half of the twentieth century on flat ground south of Ocala. On a map it looks very different from an old town. Long curving boulevards form the main framework, and hundreds of smaller streets loop and branch off them into cul-de-sacs, creating a pattern that looks almost designed as a drawing.
Parts of the plan are still thinly built, so the map shows the full street network even where there are few houses, a common feature of Florida's platted subdivisions. Interstate 75 runs near the community, and Marion County's wider landscape of pasture, woods and horse farms surrounds it. The county is often called the horse capital of the world.
A Marion Oaks map poster brings out the geometry of the subdivision: soft arcs, repeated loops and the long lines that tie them together. It is a very different image from a historic city centre, and it looks striking when printed. For families who built or bought a home here, it shows the exact street where their house stands.
Curved roads and cul-de-sacs repeat across the community in a planned pattern, giving the poster a rhythmic, almost ornamental texture.
A few long curving boulevards hold the plan together, sweeping through the neighbourhoods and giving the composition its main structure.
Beyond the subdivision, Marion County's pastures and woods open out. The county is known for horse farms, and they frame the dense plan with open land.

Marion Oaks is where many people bought their first Florida home or retired to a quieter life. A map of it marks that move and makes the unusual street pattern the main subject.
