Mason lies in Warren County, Ohio, northeast of Cincinnati, along the Interstate 71 corridor. Once a small farming town, it has grown rapidly into one of the region's larger suburbs, and its map shows this growth plainly: a small original grid at the centre, surrounded by wide areas of curving subdivisions, business parks and open land.
Mason is best known for two large venues. Kings Island, one of the Midwest's biggest amusement parks, sits in the city, and its roller coasters and car parks form a distinctive shape near the interstate. The Lindner Family Tennis Center hosts the Cincinnati Open, one of the major stops on the professional tennis tour.
