Te mapa
Mazagão lies in the state of Amapá in northern Brazil, just south of the equator and a short distance from the northern channels of the Amazon estuary. The landscape is low and green, laced with rivers, streams and seasonally flooded forest, and travel in the region has traditionally depended on boats as much as on roads.
The town's history is unusual. In 1769 Portugal abandoned its fortress of Mazagão on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, today El Jadida, and moved the settlers across the ocean to found a new Mazagão in the Amazon. The original colonial site, now known as Mazagão Velho, still holds an annual festival of São Tiago that reenacts battles between Christians and Moors.
A Mazagão map poster reflects that watery setting. Rivers and channels curve through the composition in broad dark shapes, the built-up area forms a modest grid, and roads lead toward Macapá, the state capital. Around it, the dense tropical landscape appears as open space, making the water the true subject of the print.

The main settlement is laid out in a compact pattern of streets, a small, orderly form set against the irregular lines of water and forest.
The historic settlement founded by families from Morocco lies within the municipality and is known for its São Tiago festival, one of the most distinctive traditions in the Brazilian Amazon.

Koteā ko Mazagão
Mazagão connects two continents in a single name, and a map of it tells a story few towns can. For families from Amapá, or anyone drawn to its history, the poster is both a portrait of home and a quiet historical note.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, which here sits just south of the equator, and choose one of five styles. Order the $9 HD files or a printed poster shipped from a print partner closer to you.
