Te mapa
Mer’āwī is a town in Ethiopia's Amhara Region, on the high plateau south of Bahir Dar and Lake Tana. On a map it appears as a compact settlement strung along the main highway toward Gojjam and Addis Ababa. Side streets branch into residential blocks, and cultivated land stretches around the town.
The surrounding area is agricultural. Fields cover the rolling highland, streams run toward the Blue Nile basin, and irrigation schemes have been developed in the district. For people travelling south from Bahir Dar, the town is a regular stop, with the market and roadside commerce that such a position brings.
A Mer’āwī map poster reduces the town to its essential structure: one strong road, a grid of smaller streets and open country beyond. The composition is clean and direct. It fits anyone who comes from this part of Amhara or who has travelled the highlands south of Lake Tana.
The main road runs through the town and organises everything around it. On the poster it is a bold central line with streets branching to either side.
Fields and scattered homesteads surround the built-up area. A wider crop shows the town as a dense patch set within open plateau land.
To the north, the road leads toward Bahir Dar and Lake Tana. The town's position on this route explains its long, linear shape.

Koteā ko Mer’āwī
Many people keep a map of the town they grew up in, especially after moving to a larger city or abroad. Mer’āwī's clear layout makes a strong, simple image, and it works well as a gift for family members in Ethiopia or in the diaspora.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to your own words and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files for $9, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
