Te mapa
Minamibōsō covers the southern end of the Bōsō Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture, facing the Pacific on one side and the entrance to Tokyo Bay on the other. The city was created in 2006 by merging seven towns and villages, and from above it looks like a string of small settlements along the coast, with a large area of green hills filling the interior.
The coastline is the main feature: rocky capes, sandy coves and fishing harbours alternate along a road that follows the shore around the peninsula. Nojimazaki, the southernmost point, is marked by a white lighthouse. The warm climate makes the area known for flower farming, and in late winter the fields bloom early. Inland, roads wind between valleys and rarely form a grid.
A Minamibōsō map poster shows this unusual shape: a thin, busy edge and a quiet centre. The coast road draws a clear outline, the towns appear as small clusters and the hills make a wide field of white space. It makes a restful piece for anyone who spent summers on the Bōsō coast.
The southernmost tip of the peninsula ends in a rocky point with a lighthouse, a sharp detail on the coastline of the map.
A road follows the shore around the peninsula, linking fishing harbours and small towns in a continuous line.
The hills in the centre are lightly settled, with a few winding valley roads crossing wide areas left open on the poster.

Koteā ko Minamibōsō
Minamibōsō is a place of holidays, surf trips and family visits, and its coastline is easy to recognise. A map of it recalls the sea air and the long road around the cape, and suits a calm, uncluttered room.
