Te mapa
Miracema do Tocantins stands on the Tocantins River in the centre of the state that shares its name. When Tocantins was created from the northern part of Goiás in 1988, Miracema served as its provisional capital until the new planned city of Palmas was ready. It was a brief but significant role in the history of Brazil's youngest state.
On a map the river is the dominant feature, a broad band of water running along the edge of the town. The streets form a fairly regular pattern of blocks set back from the bank, and the main roads lead away inland across the region. The neighbouring town of Tocantínia faces it from the far shore.
Just upstream, the Luís Eduardo Magalhães hydroelectric plant spans the Tocantins between Miracema and Lajeado, and the reservoir behind it stretches south towards Palmas. A Miracema do Tocantins map poster brings together the town, the wide river and the open cerrado around it. The composition is simple, spacious and shaped by water.
The broad river runs past the town and dominates the map, a wide band of water that gives the poster a strong, clean edge.
Miracema housed the government of the new state of Tocantins in 1989, before the administration moved to Palmas, the purpose-built capital.
Beyond the streets, the map opens into the savanna landscape of central Brazil, crossed by long rural roads and scattered watercourses.

Koteā ko Miracema do Tocantins
Miracema holds a special place in the story of Tocantins, and many families who helped build the state have ties to it. A map of the town and its river is a quiet way to mark that history, or simply a place called home.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a family name or a founding year. Choose from five styles, including Blueprint and Sand, then order a matte print from partners in more than 30 countries or download the HD files.
