Te mapa
Mission Viejo sits in south Orange County, between the Interstate 5 corridor and the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains. The city was developed from the 1960s onward as a single master-planned community, and its map shows this clearly: looping residential streets, cul-de-sacs and long arterial roads that follow the valleys rather than a grid.
At its heart is Lake Mission Viejo, a private man-made lake surrounded by homes, while green strips of parks and trails follow the creeks and ridges. The city is also known for its swimming tradition, with the Mission Viejo Nadadores club producing a long line of Olympic athletes over the decades.
A Mission Viejo map poster turns suburban planning into pattern. The curving roads, repeated like fingerprints across the hills, make a graphic image, while the lake and the freeway provide two strong anchors at different scales. It is a map where the design intent of an entire community becomes visible at once, from the first neighbourhoods to the later hillside tracts.
The man-made lake sits within the residential fabric, its irregular shoreline lined with homes and small parks, the largest open shape on the map.
Instead of a grid, streets bend with the terrain and end in cul-de-sacs, creating the looping, organic texture typical of planned Southern California suburbs.
Interstate 5 runs along the western side of the city, a broad straight band that contrasts with the soft curves of the neighbourhoods beside it.

Koteā ko Mission Viejo
Families who moved here for the schools, the parks or the lake often keep strong memories of one particular street or cul-de-sac. The map gives those memories a place on the wall, whether in the house itself or after moving away.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a surname, a move-in date or a wedding year, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand, and order a printed poster or download files for $9.
