Te mapa
Miyako Island lies in the Sakishima group of Okinawa Prefecture, between Okinawa Island and Taiwan. It is low and flat, built of raised coral limestone, with no significant rivers, so its map is drawn by fields, roads and coast rather than valleys. The island's rough triangle trails off to the east in Higashi-hennazaki, a long, thin cape that points into the sea.
Hirara, the main town, occupies the west coast, where a denser grid of streets gathers around the port. From the island, long bridges run across shallow water to Ikema, Kurima and Irabu. The Irabu Bridge, opened in 2015, is the longest toll-free bridge in Japan, and on a map these crossings draw some of the cleanest straight lines in the composition.
A Miyako Island map poster pairs a regular, agricultural pattern of roads through sugarcane fields with the looser shapes of reefs, beaches and smaller islands around it. Because the land is so flat, the road network spreads evenly across the whole island. The result is detailed without being crowded, and it suits both square and tall frames.
The long bridge to Irabu Island crosses open water in a gentle curve, the most striking single line on the map and a link to the neighbouring islands beyond.
A narrow cape extends from the island's eastern corner and ends at a lighthouse, a thin finger of land that makes the outline instantly recognisable.
With no rivers or high ground to interrupt it, a regular web of farm roads spreads across the whole island, thickening into Hirara's grid on the west coast.

Koteā ko Miyako Island
Miyako draws divers, beach travellers and people with family roots in the Ryukyus, and a poster of it keeps the island's bridges and capes in view long after the trip. Its compact shape and neat road pattern work well in both living rooms and bedrooms.
Change the title and subtitle to mark a stay, a dive site or a date, and set the coordinates line as you like. The five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, range from graphic contrast to soft, beach-like warmth.
