Rivers of the plain
Several rivers cross the city from north to south on their way to the sea. Their levees and banks cut soft lines through the flat land.

Te mapa
Mizuho lies on the Nōbi Plain in Gifu Prefecture, midway between the cities of Gifu and Ōgaki. The land is almost completely flat, so the map is made of low-lying streets, rice fields and several rivers flowing south across the plain. Railway lines and main roads cross the city from east to west.
The historic Nakasendō highway passed through the area, and Mieji-juku, one of its post towns, was located here. Mizuho is also closely associated with the Fuyu persimmon, and orchards are still part of its landscape. Modern residential districts have grown around the stations, while fields fill much of the remaining space.
A Mizuho map poster captures a quiet plain in careful detail. Railways and roads cross it in straight lines, rivers wind through it, and small settlements are scattered among rectangular fields. It is a subtle, balanced composition that rewards close viewing.

Railway lines and main roads cross the city from east to west. They link the neighbouring cities and anchor the densest districts.
Rice fields and orchards form a fine patchwork of rectangles between the settlements. They give the map a delicate, even texture.

Koteā ko Mizuho
Mizuho is the kind of place people know from daily life: the station, the river path, the fields between neighbourhoods. A poster turns that familiar setting into a calm, well-composed image.
