Te mapa
Moche lies in the valley of the Moche river, just south of Trujillo on Peru's northern coast. The map is a study in contrast. A green, irrigated valley floor of fields and canals is framed on both sides by bare desert and dry hills. The town sits within this green strip, with a modest, compact grid of streets.
The valley gave its name to the Moche culture, which flourished here between roughly the first and eighth centuries. Its best-known monuments are nearby: the Huaca del Sol and the Huaca de la Luna, two large adobe structures at the foot of Cerro Blanco. From above, they appear as solid, eroded masses at the edge of the cultivated land.
A Moche map poster brings together a working farm town and one of the major archaeological landscapes of the Americas. Irrigation channels, field boundaries and roads to Trujillo cross the valley in fine lines. The ancient temples and the desert beyond give the composition a sense of depth and time.

Fields and canals fill the valley floor in a fine patchwork. The green strip ends where the desert begins, creating a sharp line.
The river flows west towards the Pacific, providing the water that makes the valley possible. On the map, it is the thread running through everything else.

Archaeology enthusiasts, travellers from Trujillo and families from the valley all find something in this map. It connects a living town with the civilisation named after it.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, perhaps with the date of a visit to the Huacas. Choose one of five styles; Sand works especially well for a desert landscape. The $9 files include six print sizes.
