Te mapa
Naga lies on the Bicol plain in Camarines Sur, where the Naga River flows into the larger Bicol River. The river curves through the city centre, and the oldest streets run along its banks. Around the plazas, the historic core follows a loose grid with the cathedral, schools and government buildings. Beyond it, the city spreads out into rice fields and newer districts.
Naga is one of the oldest Spanish-founded cities in the Philippines, established in the 1570s as Nueva Cáceres. It is known for its devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia. Every September, a large fluvial procession carries her image along the Naga River, drawing pilgrims from across the country. The basilica is on the east side of the city.
On a Naga map poster, the river appears as the central axis, crossed by several bridges, with dense streets on both sides. To the east, the land rises toward Mount Isarog, an extinct volcano whose slopes and forests reach the edge of the city. The combination of river, plazas and mountain gives the city a clear shape.
The river loops through the centre on its way to the Bicol River, the route of the Peñafrancia fluvial procession each September.
The historic centre is organised around public squares and the old cathedral, a Spanish colonial pattern still clear in the street plan.
East of the city, roads climb gently toward the slopes of Mount Isarog, and the dense urban grid gives way to open country.

For Nagueños at home or abroad, and for pilgrims who have joined the Peñafrancia festival, this map holds the river and streets that matter. It is a fine print for a family home or a new place far from Bicol.
