Te mapa
Sorsogon City is the capital of Sorsogon province, at the southern tip of the Bicol peninsula in Luzon. From above, the town centre is a compact grid on the northern shore of Sorsogon Bay, a wide inlet that is sheltered from the open sea. From the centre, roads follow the coastline in both directions and connect a string of barangays that sit between the water and the green hills.
The bay is the most important feature on the map. Its calm water, fringed in places by mangroves and fishponds, supports the fishing communities along the shore. Inland, the ground rises into farmland and wooded slopes, crossed by a few roads that lead to the rest of the province. This is the part of Luzon closest to the Visayas, and the land reaches far to the south.
A Sorsogon map poster is organised around the shape of the bay. The small town grid sits on its shore, the coastal roads trace its curve and the hills close in the view behind. There is a lot of open water in the composition, so the print feels light and uncluttered. It is a fitting picture of a quiet coastal capital at the end of the Bicol road.

The town proper is a small, dense grid of streets on the bay shore. It stands out clearly against the open water and fields.
Roads follow the shoreline and link the barangays around the bay. On the print they form a long, gently curving line.

Koteā ko Sorsogon
A map of Sorsogon is a good gift for people from Bicol who now live elsewhere in the Philippines or abroad. The bay and the town centre are instantly familiar to anyone who knows the place.
