Te mapa
Catanduanes lies off the eastern tip of Luzon's Bicol peninsula, separated from it by the Maqueda Channel and Lagonoy Gulf. Seen from above, it is a compact, roughly oval island whose interior is almost entirely hills and forest. Roads keep to the edges, looping around the coast and linking towns that sit where rivers meet small bays.
Virac, the provincial capital, lies on the south coast, where the road network is densest and the airport sits beside the town. Northward the pattern thins. A highway traces the eastern and western shores, with only a few routes crossing the mountains. The Pacific side is fretted with headlands and beaches, including Puraran near Baras, known among surfers for its reef break.
The island is called the Land of the Howling Winds for its exposure to typhoons tracking in from the Pacific, and it is one of the country's leading producers of abaca fibre. A Catanduanes map poster shows the geography behind both facts: an open eastern coast and a steep, green interior where settlements stay close to the sea.
The capital's streets cluster around a bay on the southern shore. It is the densest patch of lines on the island and the natural focal point of the composition.
Most of the island's roads follow the shoreline, so the map is framed by a single line tracing every cove and point, with the empty mountains filling the centre.
The eastern coast faces open ocean, a sequence of headlands and small bays that includes the surf beach at Puraran. It is the most intricate edge on the map.

Koteā ko Catanduanes
Catanduanes is a place people come from and return to, often across long distances. A map of the whole island holds every hometown at once, from Virac to the northern villages, which makes it a natural gift for family living abroad.
Name the poster after a town, add a family name or a date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
