Te mapa
Nalerigu lies in the savanna of northern Ghana, a short distance from Gambaga and its escarpment. The town has no dramatic natural boundaries. Roads and footpaths spread across open, gently rolling land, family compounds cluster in irregular groups, and the main routes lead out to neighbouring towns and the farming villages of East Mamprusi.
Nalerigu is the traditional seat of the Nayiri, the paramount chief of the Mamprusi people, and the palace is central to the town's life and identity. In 2019 it became the capital of the newly created North East Region. The town is also known for its Baptist Medical Centre, which has treated patients from across the north for decades.
A Nalerigu map poster records the town as an old royal centre takes on the role of a regional capital. The loose web of streets, the open ground between compounds and the roads fanning out across the savanna make for a light, airy print.
The palace area of the Nayiri is the historic heart of the town. The surrounding streets and compounds have grown outward from it over generations.
Several roads leave town over open, gently rolling country. They give the poster long, simple lines that reach out towards the edges of the frame.
Nalerigu lies close to neighbouring Gambaga and the escarpment beyond. The road between the two towns is one of the most important links on the map.

Koteā ko Nalerigu
Nalerigu matters to Mamprusi families wherever they now live, and to the many people who have worked or trained at the medical centre. A map of the town is a respectful, understated way to keep it close.
