Te mapa
Ogi lies on the northern edge of the Saga plain in Kyushu, where flat rice fields meet wooded hills. The town's streets spread across the low ground, while the slopes to the north rise quickly, giving the map a clear division between the settled plain and the forested high ground behind it.
In the Edo period Ogi was the seat of a branch domain of the Nabeshima clan, and the castle-town layout left its trace in the centre. Today the town is best known for Ogi Park, famous for its cherry blossoms and azaleas, and for Ogi yokan, a sweet bean confection that has become a regional specialty.
An Ogi map poster shows a modest Japanese town in a strong landscape setting. Straight rail and road lines run across the plain, the older core clusters near the base of the hills, and the park forms a softer, open area at the edge of the streets. It is a gentle, balanced composition for anyone who knows Saga.
The park sits against the hillside near the town centre, a green, open space known for seasonal blossoms that appears on the map as a quiet break in the street pattern.
The older centre reflects Ogi's history as a domain seat, with a denser cluster of streets around the area once associated with the local lords.
Flat farmland to the south and steep wooded slopes to the north give the poster a strong horizon, with roads and rail tracing the boundary between them.
