Te mapa
Owariasahi lies in Aichi Prefecture, between Nagoya and Seto, in a band of low hills rising east of the Nobi plain. It grew largely as a home for people working in Nagoya. The Meitetsu Seto Line runs through it, giving the map a clear rail spine, with neighbourhoods clustered around the stations.
Because of the terrain, the street pattern varies rather than repeating. Older lanes follow the valley floors, while later housing developments trace the contours of the slopes in looping roads and cul-de-sacs. Patches of woodland, ponds and parks sit between the built-up areas, so the city appears as a mosaic of neighbourhoods rather than a single dense block.
An Owariasahi map poster brings out those layers. The rail line running east to west, the curving estates on the hills and the small reservoirs scattered among them make a composition that feels calm and detailed. It is quite different from the rigid grid of central Nagoya, only a short ride away.
The rail line crosses the city from west to east, a thin straight thread along which the stations and the densest streets are strung.
Housing developments on the hillsides are laid out along curving roads that follow the slopes, giving parts of the map a soft texture like a fingerprint.
Small reservoirs, parks and wooded areas break up the residential streets, leaving open shapes that add breathing space to the poster.
