Te mapa
Payakumbuh is a city in West Sumatra, Indonesia, in the highlands east of Bukittinggi. It sits on a plateau surrounded by rice fields, with Mount Sago rising to the south. On a map the urban area is fairly compact. The Batang Agam river curves through it, and roads branch out through farmland toward nearby villages and the valleys beyond.
This is Minangkabau country, and the region is known for its traditional houses with upswept, horn-shaped roofs and for its cooking. Payakumbuh itself promotes itself as a city of rendang, the slow-cooked dish that has become one of Indonesia's best-known foods. Nearby, the Harau Valley is famous for its sheer cliffs and waterfalls.
A Payakumbuh map poster shows a town closely tied to its landscape. The central streets form a modest grid near the market, while outer roads follow ridges and stream valleys. Rice fields break the pattern with open spaces. The river adds a soft line through the middle, giving the composition a natural, balanced feel.
The river winds through the centre of town. Its curving course divides neighbourhoods and gives the map a gentle, flowing line.
The densest streets gather around the central market area, where a small grid forms the commercial heart of the city.
Around the town, roads cross open paddy land. The empty spaces between them give the outer map a light, airy texture.

Koteā ko Payakumbuh
Payakumbuh is home for many Minangkabau families, including those who have moved away to work elsewhere. A map poster is a simple way to keep the hometown close.
Personalise the title, add a family name or date, or keep the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the warm, green highlands particularly well.
