Te mapa
Sungai Penuh lies in a high valley in the west of Jambi province, deep in the Barisan Mountains of Sumatra. It is the main town of the Kerinci region. From above, the urban area sits on the flat valley floor, with streets gathered around the centre and roads leading out along the valley between rice fields.
The valley is framed by steep, forested slopes. To the north stands Mount Kerinci, the highest volcano in Indonesia, and to the south lies Lake Kerinci. Much of the surrounding mountain land belongs to Kerinci Seblat National Park, one of the largest protected areas in Sumatra. On a Sungai Penuh map poster, the edge of the town fades quickly into cultivated land and forest.
Sungai Penuh became a separate city in 2008, split from Kerinci Regency, though it remains the region's commercial centre. Small rivers run down from the hills across the valley, and villages line the roads, forming a loose network of settlement around the compact core.
The town spreads across flat land between steep ridges, so its street network ends suddenly where the slopes begin, which gives the map a clear boundary.
Irrigated fields surround the urban area, their small parcels and channels forming a delicate pattern that fills the space between villages.
Mount Kerinci and the forests of Kerinci Seblat National Park rise around the valley, a highland landscape that shapes every road leading out of town.

Koteā ko Sungai Penuh
Sungai Penuh is home to a distinct highland community and the starting point for many who climb Mount Kerinci. A map of it keeps the memory of a green, enclosed valley high in Sumatra.
You can set the title and subtitle yourself, for example a climb date or a family name, and keep the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
