Te mapa
Prabumulih lies in the lowlands of South Sumatra, southwest of Palembang. From above, the town is less a single dense block than a network of roads and settlements running through gently rolling land. Neighbourhoods follow the main routes, with plantations, small rivers and patches of vegetation between them, so the map has an open, branching quality.
The area has long been associated with oil and gas production, and field installations and access roads are part of the landscape around the town. Prabumulih is also known in Indonesia for its pineapples, grown widely on the surrounding land. Road and rail links connect it to Palembang and to the south of the province.
A Prabumulih map poster shows a town that feels woven into its setting. The main roads create strong lines through the composition, the side streets spread out from them, and the open land between gives the print plenty of breathing room. It is an informal, organic pattern, different from the tidy grids of planned cities.
The town spreads along several main roads, with smaller streets branching off them, giving the map a tree-like pattern rather than a compact grid.
Plantations, gardens and green areas separate the neighbourhoods, leaving large calm areas of the map around the settled corridors.
Transport lines to Palembang and southern Sumatra cross the town, drawing long continuous strokes through the looser street pattern.

Koteā ko Prabumulih
The print makes a thoughtful gift for someone from Prabumulih working in Palembang, Jakarta or overseas, or for oil-industry families who spent years here. The branching, open pattern also looks good as an abstract design.
