Te mapa
Phon Charoen is a district town in the far northeast of Thailand, in the area that now forms Bueng Kan province, previously part of Nong Khai. The surrounding country is typical of Isan. It is low and gently rolling, covered by rice paddies, plantations and scattered woodland, with villages linked by long, straight rural roads.
The town is a modest cluster of streets around a main road, with a market, temples and government offices at its centre. Beyond it, the map opens up into a patchwork of fields. Ponds and reservoirs appear as small bright shapes, and farm tracks divide the land into irregular parcels. It is a quiet, spacious composition in which the countryside takes up most of the frame.
A Phon Charoen map poster is a personal choice for people with ties to the district: families who farm here, workers who moved to Bangkok or overseas, and partners who met someone from the area. It records a place defined by its fields and seasons as much as by its streets.
The town grew along a central road. It runs through the frame as the clearest line, with shorter streets branching from it.
Fields surround the town in small, irregular parcels. They give the poster a fine, textile-like texture that is typical of the Isan landscape.
Scattered water bodies, from village ponds to larger reservoirs, show up as rounded shapes among the fields and add quiet accents to the map.

Koteā ko Phon Charoen
Many people from Isan live far from home, in Bangkok, in Europe or elsewhere, and often return for festivals and family events. A Phon Charoen map poster keeps the district close, and it makes a meaningful gift for a partner or parent from the area.
