Te mapa
Piteå lies on the coast of Norrbotten in northern Sweden, where the Pite River reaches the Gulf of Bothnia. On the map, water is everywhere: bays reach into the land, islands and peninsulas break up the coastline, and the town centre is drawn between inlets, connected by bridges and causeways.
The town was moved to its present site in the seventeenth century, and the compact centre still has a clear, orderly layout of streets with some older wooden buildings. Around it, residential areas spread onto neighbouring peninsulas and islands, while forest and water fill much of the surrounding map.
A short distance from the centre is Pite Havsbad, a seaside resort whose sandy beach has earned the area a reputation as a summer destination unusually far north. A Piteå map poster captures this intricate coastline, the neat town centre and the forested land around it.
The Pite River meets the Gulf of Bothnia near the town, and its estuary adds a broad band of water to the map's already complex coastline.
The town centre sits among bays and inlets, with bridges and causeways linking it to nearby peninsulas, so streets and water interlock closely.
South of the centre, the beach resort of Pite Havsbad lines a stretch of sandy shore, one of the best-known summer spots in northern Sweden.

Koteā ko Piteå
Piteå's coastline makes one of the most graphic maps in Norrbotten, with land and water in constant dialogue. It speaks to locals, to students and to anyone who has spent a bright summer night on its beaches.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle with a name or a summer date, and adjust the coordinates line. The Blueprint and Noir styles suit the watery coastline, alongside Classic black & white, Paper and Sand.
