Pooler lies just west of Savannah, on the flat, low-lying coastal plain of Georgia. It has grown quickly in recent decades, and the map shows it. A small older core sits near the railway, surrounded by curving subdivisions, cul-de-sacs and large retail areas that spread out in every direction.
Transport lines give the town its structure. Interstate 95 and Interstate 16 meet nearby, and their large interchanges are clearly visible. The runways of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport lie on the town's eastern edge. Pooler is also home to the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, which honours the Second World War bomber command founded in Savannah.
